Word for 2021.
Corinne de Groot
At the beginning of 2020 we entered a new era.
Back then we spoke about the restoration of families, prophetic words being fulfilled and of ‘mending your nets.’
Worldwide Covid-19 changed the world.
Families
This situation has thrown us back onto our families.
At the end of the summer of 2020, I saw a three-part vision in prayer. The fields worldwide were full of young people. They were lying on the ground due to setbacks, disappointments, Covid-19 and other things. The fields are ripe unto harvest, but I didn’t see any workers. I asked myself, ‘Where are the workers?” (Mt 9:37)
In 2020 we saw a lot happening in our families and we need to pray for their recovery. In 2021 we will see this recovery progress as we continue to pray for fathers and mothers to take their place in their families. We also need to pray that parents will love and affirm their children and dare to set boundaries and say ‘no’ when they need to. Storms like Covid-19 bring us to a level of setbacks that my generation has never known! We all, as parents and grandparents, want our children to be happy, but they should also be able to persevere when things get difficult!
Following Jesus Christ
2021 will be a year where we realise that “following Jesus Christ” will cost us a great deal. (Matt. 16:24, 25). We’ll also realise more and more that we are swimming against the current (Eph. 4:20). 2021 will be a year in which we should shine. When the world appears to be heading in a certain direction, we should open our mouths and say, “I choose to follow Jesus Christ and His Word, the Bible.”
In early December the Lord spoke to me from Gal. 3: 3 “How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?” This is what Paul asked the Galatians. For us, if we have accepted Christ then the Spirit of God lives in us. But now those things are difficult, where are we? In 2021 we will have to choose whether we want to continue in the Spirit or in the flesh?
The Lord is calling us to unity
2021 is the year when our Lord calls us to walk in unity with other Christians. The worldwide storm caused by Covid-19 has been fierce. Brothers and sisters criticised each other a lot in 2020, but we cannot fight the spiritual battle or defeat the evil one when we are divided? Our Lord and Saviour calls us to be one in Him. We need each other and we don’t want to tear the “World Wide Net” of believers that we are a part of, but rather restore it!
Perseverance in prayer for the elections and for the government 2021 is the year that if you choose to humbly follow the leading of the Spirit, the Lord will give you the creativity to heal your own business. Ask the Lord for solutions to your own situation and that of our country!
Keep praying for the government of the Netherlands, it’s storming! Have we not prayed, begged that the kingdom of God would come in politics? Now I feel an urgency from the Lord to go on, to persevere in prayer, so that the right Prime Minister, the right people’s representatives, whom God has in mind, will be in their places in 2021. There were also prophetic words about this 2 years ago.
Only prayer moves mountains!
If we are not interceding for our beloved country then the prophetic words for the Netherlands cannot achieve their purpose. So whoever you are, whatever original country you come from, or whatever skin color you have, in Christ we are equal and we have an important roll to stand as watchers on the wall for our country and the world! (Ezek. 15: 5). Let us use our mouth to give thanks to our Lord in spite of everything because He never changes, He is Alpha and Omega, who is and always will be.
Finally, I do not experience that we will completely get rid of the Covid-19 virus in 2021.
