Prophetic Word for 2021 by Matthew Helland Netherlands Prophetic Council
“There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roof tops” (Luke 12:2-3).
2021 will be a year of hidden things being revealed. I saw a picture of a volcano getting ready to erupt and an ink pen being emptied. I believe in this year there will be hidden things that will be revealed both in a positive and in a negative sense.
Disclosure and purification
First, that which the Lord is revealing to us in the secret place, He is going to continue to create new avenues and platforms for us to publish and proclaim the word of the Lord. Second, there will be high level scandals and secret manipulation of facts and stories that will come to light and corruption will be dealt with. This has to do with politicians, organised crime and new alliances that will be created to deal with physical and criminal illnesses that affect our world.
The Lord is also speaking about Italy, that from Rome there will be new steps that will lead to shaking an purifying of high levels of leadership. We are not to be afraid for, “He who changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others.. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning” (Daniel 2:21).
A changing of leaders
There will continue to be a changing of leaders and of the guard across the nations. Our job is to uphold and pray for those coming into places of leadership as the world at this time is still in the throes of the pandemic. We will come out of this pandemic stronger and more focussed for the job that is at hand. The secrets of the hearts of many will be revealed. New alliances, new leadership and the motivations of hearts will be revealed.
Speak life
The second verse I felt God speaking to me about 2021 was from Acts 14:19-20: “Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and on the crowd over. They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead. But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe.”
So many businesses, churches and institutions are getting smashed by this pandemic and many people think that this spells the end of ministries and churches as we know it. Many think that the church is dead. Yet, just as Paul was encircled by the disciples and he was raised back up, so we are to circle around one another and speak life. We are to prophesy over individuals, cities and nations the will and heart of God over people and places. We will see them not just raised up again, but with a renewed focus on the basics of living the gospel.
Things such as prayer, fasting, discipleship, eating together, preaching the gospel with signs, wonders and miracles will follow the preaching of the word of God. We believe that what we are going through will not lead to a falling away of our calling as a church, but as in the book of Acts, will lead to an empowerment of training, preparing, equipping and making disciples, and preparing leaders globally.
